Please forgive this rather maudlin intrusion . . .

27 years ago as a 19 y/o medic with the Marines in Vietnam I dealt firsthand
with the human devastation caused by landmines.=A0 This devastation=
 continues:
the U.S. Dept. of State estimates that every 22 minutes, somewhere in the
world a man, woman, or child is killed or maimed by a mine.=A0=20

A Treaty to ban the use, production, stockpiling and transfer of
anti-personnel
landmines will be signed in Ottawa, Canada, next month; nearly 100 nations
support this treaty.=20

In anticipation of the signing of the Treaty, members of the Nobel
Peace Prize-winning Campaign to Ban Landmines are traveling across the
U.S. to publicize the concept of a world free of landmines; they will be in
Philadelphia on Thursday, November 20th participating in the following
events:=20

 local
laundromat, food co-op, video store, school, etc., please let me know.
