                  InterNIC Directory and Database Services

NEW SERVICE:
The InterNIC Directory and Database Services mail server now
provides access to the recently announced InterNIC Directory and
Database Services whois server.  This is the whois server that
provides unified access to person data from a local whois server
containing the non-MIL, non-POC person information, the
Registration Services server (rs.internic.net) containing the
POC person information, and the DISA NIC whois server (NIC.DDN.MIL)
containing the MILNET person information.  The results from all
three servers are returned to the user.

ACCESS:
Users can send mail to Users can send mail to mailserv () ds internic net.  The Subject: field
is ignored.  The whois commands must be placed in the body.  Multiple
commands are allowed in the message body.  The following are command
examples:

        whois doe
        whois .doe, john
