SOFTWARE FROM INDIA.  India has become one of the world leaders in computer
software production and Bangalore has become the site of India's version of
Silicon Valley, with more than 100 computer software companies and tens of
thousands of computer engineers.  The work is often performed at
state-of-the-art level, such as that being done on the Motorola's hand-held
