I am with you 100% on that. The ramifications from a marketing standpoint
would probably cost more that the initial damage by the intruder. I did get
a link from someone  http://www.cybercrime.gov/cccases.html which has a few.
It actually has some pretty entertaining information on it. Thanks to
everyone who responded.

Companies tend to keep that kind of information very close to the vest.  The
multi-billion dollar estimates are worth about the electrons that they were
communicated with (see Rob Rosenberger's diatribes about this at
www.vmyths.com).

Assuming you can even get a company to officially admit that they were
cracked (which is unlikely) or hit by a virus, they are not likely to tell
you how much damage was done.
