I highly reccomend GMail.  The SPAM filter is EXCELLENT (not only do I
get no SPAM in my inbox from these security lists but I even use a
gmail account when signing up for the free ipod sites and none of it
gets through at all), labels, threaded conversations and a quick
google search through your messages make keeping your own mailing list
archives better than any I have found online.
