I would feel that doctors, lawyers, train/bus drivers, truck drivers, etc would all have to undergo the same psych 
eval.... As they ALL cause more deaths per year than gun owners........and we can't forget automobile drivers too!

I've always argued folks given a gun for a living should have to go
through psychological evaluation and maintain good mental health. New
Orleans and Baltimore police departments are a case study.
