I have been freezing my behind off working on a contract in Connecticut
recently. Thus, I have been flying home to South Carolina regularly to
defrost. The closest airport is West Chester County, New York and I pass
through it, on average, twice weekly.

The first time through it, I noticed a big sign on the entrance to the
rest rooms, "Use of cell phones is prohibited in this area. Violators
will be prosecuted by airport authority." I said something to someone
about it being crazy not being able to use your cell phone in the only
area of the airport which was quite enough that you could hear the
person sitting next to you scream, and they said that some politicians
were just trying to prevent getting themselves sued, should some pervert
use their cell phone camera to take pictures in the rest room. What a
CYA Nanny State we have become!

(On a side note, West Chester County, NY is one of the top wealthiest
counties in the country. The airport is surrounded by multi-million
dollar McMansions. IBM's global head quarters is just down the street.
Yet the airport more resembles a third-world bus station than an
airport. In fact, I have been in nicer third-world bus stations than
that airport. To call it a "dump" would be polite. You would think that
having such a dump for an airport would be an embarrassment to the
residents of such a wealthy area, but apparently not. The only thing
good I can say about it is that it avoids the drive to LGA!)
