That defines one of the many potential situations. Is Panama "beyond the
sea"?

I am certainly no expert; I was referencing the article.

There is no precedent as 'natural born citizen' has not been
thoroughly
defined. It may be so, but it isn't 'obvious'.

Really, it hasn't? I didn't know you were an expert on the matter. How's
this for a definition? The Congress in 1790, a Congress on which a number of
Framers sat, provided in the Naturalization Act that "...the children of
citizens of the United States, that may be born beyond the sea, . . .shall
be considered as natural born citizens . . . ." (Act of March 26, 1790, 1
Stat. 103, 104)

So really this is a non-issue and there shouldn't even be a 'probe', right?

Obviously it fits the requirements

What the Constitution says on the matter is this: "No Person except a
natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the
Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President;
neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have
attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been Fourteen Years a Resident
within the United States. "

Having been born on a US military base, McCain was, by right of birth, a US
citizen. Obviously it fits the requirements, which are a stupid rule in any
event.

I am not American and do not give hair nor hiney who wins the election and
does not become president; however, this looks like someone trying to force
an inappropriate technicality. I expected something about Obama, but I
think the US military zones should not be exempt from the requirement for
becoming president. How silly to even investigate it. It sounds so....
Canadian.

Even worse, the "Mall of America" was built and is owned by Canadians!

Come November we may also have a foreign-born president:
