An armed gang of four kidnapped one of the world's top RPG gamers after one
criminal's girlfriend lured him into a fake date using Orkut, Google's social
network. After sequestering him in Sao Paulo, they held a gun against the
victim's head for five hours to get his password, which they wanted to sell for
$8,000.

Amateurs. Forget the gun: you keep him sequestered for 36 hours with no access
to games or the net. After that you give him access to a machine with a
keylogger installed. He'll be so game-deprived that he won't care.

Interesting story indeed. I've been noting, in recent presentations on "crimeware"
(yes, sorry, I know, but if I don't go along with the bafflegab I don't get a chance
to make the points about security ...) that gaming forms part of the "malware
economy" used not only for things of value but also for laundering money ...
