I don't think that the FDA is that off the wall. From the article:

"The bizarre crackdown was prompted because Vegemite contains folate, which
in the US can be added only to breads and cereals."

I know that the second part of the sentence isn't true, so I have to wonder
if boingboing hasn't been suckered on the whole thing.
