Of course it's a rhetorical question. Domain registrars, with very few
exceptions, are a sleazy bunch in a sleazy business and we can thank
ICANN, who sets the rules for the most part, for creating only unsavory
incentives. There's no incentive for registrars to pursue fraud like
this, even the low-hanging fruit. Only large companies are in a good
position to defend themselves when their trademarks are violated. And if
you're just a little guy whose domain was stolen through fraud you're up
the creek; they don't care about you.

We agree on this -- it is a mess, and only contributes to the
security problem(s).
