Hi Folks, Sorry about the cross-list posting (done with permission). All lists have been BCC'd to prevent inadvertent reply-alls. The 9th annual AVAR conference will be in Auckland, New Zealand December 3-5, 2006. This year the theme is Digital Security - Prevention to Prosecution. *ALL* aspects of computing and Internet security are relevant - not only anti-virus. I hope some of you will submit some abstracts for the conference! Cheers, Randy http://www.aavar.org/avar2006/CallForPapers/ Call for Papers The AVAR conference committee is now seeking submissions from those wishing to present at the conference. This call for papers invites the submission of full papers and abstracts on topics that may include, but are not restricted to: * Analysis of malware trends * Replicative and non-replicative malware (botnets, rootkits, Trojans, spam, spyware, phishing, pharming, etc.) * Internet Criminal Investigation/tracking/research * The roles of ISPs, ASN's * Wireless security * Emerging technologies Speakers from government, defence, ISPs, CERTs, universities, the commercial sector, and anywhere the security of networked computers is involved are encouraged to submit. Authors wishing to give a presentation must provide the following information to the 2006 Organizing Committee no later than 31st July 2006. The abstract should be submitted by e-mail in Plain text, Rich text or Adobe PDF format. The final date for completed papers to be submitted (subject to acceptance) will be 9th October 2006. * name and affiliation * contact email and physical address * a short biography of qualification and/or experience(100 words) * paper title * abstract (maximum 500 words) Presentations must not exceed 40 minutes including 5 minutes for questions. Speakers should indicate their audio-visual and computing equipment requirements for presentation of papers. The speakers are exempted from the conference registration fee and are entitled to attend all sessions of the two-day conference, lunch on 4-5 December and banquet on 4 December. AVAR also invites suggestions for particular speakers you would like to hear from at AVAR2006.
