I'm speaking at a conference in Brazil next week, and the organizers, as part of 
their publicity, have been sending along email "interviews" from journos down 
there.  So far:

>  - They actually write the viruses

the last four in a row have asked this

at least three

>  - They deliberately rely on an update-needing technology

at least four, at different times

not in so many words
