Ancheta controlled 400,000 windows boxes?!

Ok, I know botnets are common, but it says in the article that "it
emerged that he controlled some 400,000 computers around the world".

This would be a larger than average botnet, correct? If this is true,
then he would have to be lying about the monitary gain (60k sounds
like lowballing eh?).

Does anyone have numbers on the total number of bots out there?
