Nice, but kind of a round about method. My religion goes straight to
the point. Our beliefs? We believe that in order to be closer to god,

all stemmed from the "in god we trust" motto found inscribed on all US
currency.

This is getting way out of hand.

What surprises me is that nobody has hit on the *REALLY* interesting
part of this ruling. Courts have consistently ruled against the
government in this case on the basis that uniform enforcement of drug
laws is not a "compelling interest" of the government in suppressing
religious freedom.

In other words: the drug laws, which have no basis for a "compelling
interest" of societal protection are unconstitutional on-face for the
simple reason that they infringe upon freedom of expression for no
demonstrated purpose.

If American drug policy had some hope of being effective and an
effective American drug policy was actually of some provable benefit to
the society as a whole, the court's ruling would've been different.

This ruling is a factual finding of what most of America has known for
years: that U.S. drug-control law is not only ineffective but
counter-productive.

For once, the people on the federal benches seem to have some sense...
now if only they had that in common with the legislature and executive,
we'd be living in a much better world.
