My goodness. Looks like your calculations are wrong.
Which of my calculations are wrong? The time for free fall of any object 'in vacuo' is t = (2h/a)1/2. H = 416m. a = 9.8m/s/s. t = 9.2s. In a pancake descent t = 110(2h/110a)1/2. According to my calculator that's just under 90s. So which calculation is incorrect? BTW these calculations neglect air resistance so are too low. What do you calculate as the resistance presented by a quarter of a million tonnes of concrete and steel?
