Biometrics -- Bad for Security, Bad for Privacy!

I was recently in a data center working with my team to roll out some new security gear for a client. I think it was Data Center company S or was it company G or Q. It doesn't matter, the experience is pretty much the same. You are confronted with someone, with barely understandable English, who is not necessarily pleasant and obviously does not want to be there. They are almost always from a company other than the one who is responsible for the Data Center. When at the sign-in desk going through the ID process I was asked: - For my government issued ID with picture - No Problem - My name was checked to see if it was on the list for access to the cage - Very reasonable. - I was asked to place my hand in the BioScanner for a biometric scan -- No Thank You!
