As far as I'm concerned. A business ISP should not block any port for any reason unless requested by the business that is leasing that line... This should include DSL and Broadband cable business class links as well.
Agreed.
I'd drop them and get another provider if I could...
Had they warned us they were doing this, we *would* have gone elsewhere long before this was an issue. We're still going to go elsewhere, but now we're screwed until the new line drops.
either that or figure out how much it's costing your company, and sue them for lost revenue.
We're bandaided with a jury-rigged tunnel, so it's painful but not deadly (for *us* - whatabout MomAndPopBusinessDSLuser?), so wasting money on lawyerlarvae is not a good use of resources. But the point remains that this is BULLSHIT! DO YOU HEAR ME SOUTHWESTERN BELL?? F*@#&^ YOU!!

-- Yours, J.A. Terranson sysadmin () mfn org 0xBD4A95BF Civilization is in a tailspin - everything is backwards, everything is upside down- doctors destroy health, psychiatrists destroy minds, lawyers destroy justice, the major media destroy information, governments destroy freedom and religions destroy spirituality - yet it is claimed to be healthy, just, informed, free and spiritual. We live in a social system whose community, wealth, love and life is derived from alienation, poverty, self-hate and medical murder - yet we tell ourselves that it is biologically and ecologically sustainable. The Bush plan to screen whole US population for mental illness clearly indicates that mental illness starts at the top.
