The Trade press likes to make a big deal out of nothing. Two large vendors have simply proposed their vision of a solution for end-to-end security, and presently the two visions are not compatible. Big whoop. Even when they collaborate on spec, the first few versions have interoperability issues anyway. It's not like this is going to stop any particular organization from evaluating and pursuing some aspect of one (or both) of these technologies. Most likely the technology chosen will represent whether or not Cisco or Microsoft is a bigger part of an organization's infrastructure.
