It would be nice for the gentoo network if you schedule that 1 every day or 
two, not twice a day.

It's always better to see what is really going to be updated, chances are that 
some config file has to be modified, or a given services stops working after 
the update.

I do a contabed emerge sync once a day, and manually update with "emerge -uDp 
world", and "emerge -uD world", that way I know what is going on exactly, and 
I can see it some package wasn't succesfully compiled, and I can manually 
update all others after it.
