Sorry old son but the engine is NOT a beta. The Mcafee I have is Mcafee VSO (now called Version 8) and I *ONLY* allow it to be updated normally because like most of us here, if it stuffs up, I want to be prepared as a lot of my customers use it. This is a stock standard web updated Mcafee.
you're right, the engine you use is not beta. My mistake. But: AFAIK the 4.3.20 engine is *available* for McAfee's MS products, not the default. If you would take a look at http://www.nai.com/us/products/mcafee/end_of_life.htm (last update: December 5, 2003) you can see that the 4.3.20 engine is not even mentioned and 4.2.60 is called the 'current engine'.
Anyway, engine 4.2.60 with dat 4319 recognizes the worm - engine 4.3.20 with the same dat file does not. I would contact NAI and tell 'em about that buggy engine...
GTi P.S.: Please don't cc me, I'm on the list. Thanks. _______________________________________________ Full-Disclosure - We believe in it. Charter: http://lists.netsys.com/full-disclosure-charter.html
