In some ways, I understand their ire. There are, within the "security industry" (whatever that means) people who-- intentionally or unintentionally-- sell their customers short

providing little of use to anyone, including their customers. But they're not everyone.
So vendors are giving people a false sense of security -- but, isn't the purpose of this list (at least in part) to expose such things (by presenting timely information, etc.)? In that case, what purpose would attacking the list serve?
