Actually, I've begun to find it somewhat entertaining as of late. The
occasional "on topic" post comes through (every 20th msg or so) and I find
myself thinking, "How boring...I just read that on bugtraq". Then the hell
raising starts again and things are back to normal. I guess I've just
started to accept the fact that this list is a total free for all, and
will probably remain that way in the interests of true disclosure. I'm
willing to accept it, warts and all, until things get so out of hand that
everyone else leaves. Just browsing through the documents of some of our
less distinguished posters (I wont start calling names) reveals that one
of their basic goals in this so called war on the security community, is
to flood this list with so much garbage that everyone leaves. Looks like
it's working, judging from some of the comments. To me, it seems that the
whole whitehat/blackhat thing is an exercise in futility. Let's all just
agree to be grey, make our own choices about how we use our talents
without forcing our views down each other's throats, and let the chips
fall where they may. In the grand scheme of things, none of us are that
important anyway.
