Hi Nad,

I would say, It depends... What is the purpose of the extra internet link?

If the internet lines are going to be used for different reasons, ie;
One is for VPN's and the other is pure internet, then what he
suggested would be fine.

If they are going to be used for redundancy then why would you buy in
redundant lines without putting in redundant gear behind it?

If the router goes down then you lose both links.

Hi guys,
my company is having 2 leased lines internet connections and they were
about to buy two routers to make them standby to each other, each with
one of the internet connections, as they were discussing with some
network consultant...he convinced them to reduce cost and put 2 wics
in one router only each connected to the each internet connection
instead of buying 2 routers....is that appropriate??

thanks alot

Nad
