It rather subverts the desire of having 2 circuits to begin with. Having multiple pieces of kit makes any failure along that path irrelevant since it's redundant up & down the data path. Convince them to run dual routers (they don't have to be hefty but capable to run HSRP) and you'll be better off once one circuit does actually fail.
