I think I said that I did, somewhere in this thread, if not in that
very message.  Oh, I see.  You are mistaking the past "could" ["was
able to"] for the subjunctive "could" ["might be able to"].  This is a
reasonable mistake, and I apologise for the ambiguity.

This was a major impetus for my release of the consolidated patch,  In
consolidating the more popular and useful patches of the time, I also
reviewed them and removed as many bugs as I could find.

Of course, being a created being, I am imperfect.  I also allocated
finite time to this, out of necessity.  I don't think a week passed
before someone else released a patch to my consolidated patch.  ;-)
