The problem is that FW-1 and FWTK can't seem to agree on which telnet options to use, and the connection ends up being in "linemode", with no possibility to go back to character mode afterwards. Most Unix telnet clients permit you to change options after connecting. Ctrl- ], type "mode character". Do you know what client your end user is using?
What I meant by "no possibility to go back to character mode" is exactly that: an escape sequence followed by "mode character" doen't change anything... But thanks anyway for your suggestion. Regarding the client used, we made tests with 3 different Unix telnet clients (Solaris 2.6, Solaris 2.7 and RedHat 5.2 Linux) and a Win95 telnet client, all ending with the same problems, which makes me think it's _not_ client related but is really the symptom of something going wrong in the telnet options negociation phase between fwtk and FW-1.
