[One thing I'd like to encourage is for people to continue posting pointers to good literature that's relevant to our field. I'm going to make an effort to do periodic reviews of what's on my stack.] Recent papers of I really enjoyed from the USENIX security symposium: Carsten Benecke, Uwe Ellermann {benecke,ellermann}@fwl.dfn.de "Securing 'Classical IP over ATM Networks' -- a very good discussion of some of the ATM-specific problems with IP security. Crispin Cowan, Calton Pu, Dave Maier, Heather Hinton, etc. http://cse.ogi.edu/DISC/projects/immunix "StackGuard: Automatic adaptive detection and prevention of buffer overflow attacks" -- a set of changes to gcc to prevent a broad set of stack smashing attacks. mjr. -- Marcus J.
