Job opening: OmniSOC Lead Security Engineer
From: "Graves, Rich" <rxgraves () IU EDU>
Date: Thu, 19 Jul 2018 22:03:57 +0000
OmniSOC at Indiana University, a new shared cybersecurity operations center for higher education (5 institutions currently participating), has opened a Lead Security Engineer position to grow the team. This is a pure security role, doing level 2/3 escalation, proactive engineering, service definition, and so on. The level 1 NOC/SOC analysts report to a different manager. OmniSOC systems platform engineering (the sysadmins and dev/ops) is yet another team. Currently there are 2 security engineers, myself and Scott Orr. This will make three, and we have ambition to grow further. Our SIEM is Elastic Stack based but what we're really looking for are information security fundamentals and higher education street smarts. Indiana University has two flagship campuses, in Indianapolis and Bloomington, and a mature culture of videoconferencing between them. I telecommute. Scott is in Indianapolis, and we all report directly to Executive Director and CISO Tom Davis in Bloomington. Direct link to the job posting, and to apply: https://iujobs.peopleadmin.com/postings/65116 More information about the OmniSOC: https://omnisoc.iu.edu/ If you tell them I sent you, I think I get a small referral incentive. ("Lead" is the job level, above "senior" and below "principal" as defined at IU) Rich Graves <rxgraves () iu edu> Principal Security Engineer https://OmniSOC.iu.edu/
