Good afternoon,

As your college or university begins planning for National Cyber Security Awareness Month events and activities in
October, please consider leveraging the free resources that are available to everyone.

The information provided below (also attached as a PDF) shares basic, suggested criteria for organizations to use in
order to align your events with consistent, harmonized messaging in support of NCSAM.

· Become a NCSAM Champion & encourage others to join: https://staysafeonline.org/ncsam/champions (EDUCAUSE,
Internet2, and REN-ISAC are proud champions!)

· Use the NCSAM logo on promo materials (including event invitations, signage, press materials, announcements)

· Use #CyberAware for social media posts

· Share event listings on NCSA’s website: https://staysafeonline.org/ncsam/events

· Include links to NCSA’s website in your event’s collateral: https://staysafeonline.org/ncsam

· Find additional NCSAM resources and valuable info from DHS: https://www.dhs.gov/ncsam

· During your events, showcase NCSAM’s core theme: The Internet is a shared resource, and securing it is “Our
Shared Responsibility.” You can also mention that this is the 14th annual NCSAM, co-founded and co-led by the National
Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

· Consider tying events to the NCSAM weekly themes and topics: https://staysafeonline.org/ncsam/about

· Share and distribute STOP. THINK. CONNECT. resources (which are free!):
https://stopthinkconnect.org/resources

EDUCAUSE also provides higher ed specific planning materials and resources, which you can find at
https://www.educause.edu/ncsam. If you have any questions, please let me know. For inquiries about NCSA’s resources
send a note to: info () staysafeonline org<mailto:info () staysafeonline org>.
Thank you,
Valerie
