Our group is undergoing a minor re-org and is excited to announce a new position within the organization:

Enterprise Infrastructure Services, Asst. Director - Networking
https://jobs.wwu.edu/JobPosting.aspx?JPID=6795
http://www.wwu.edu/hrjobs/

This position is responsible for overseeing Western Washington University's network infrastructure; for providing
leadership and direction to members of the Network team; and for supplying technical guidance in all networking
matters. Close working relationships with security and technical staff is paramount.

The Assistant Director is also responsible for fostering an environment within the Network team where collaboration,
coaching, an enthusiasm for learning, and a
desire to continuously improve services and infrastructure is the norm.

The Assistant Director delegates tasks, sets policies and priorities, assigns deadlines, and manages workflows for the
Network team. The Assistant Director represents the Network team and is ultimately responsible for the team's
performance. The Assistant Director reports to the Director of Enterprise Infrastructure Services and works
collaboratively and willingly with other Assistant Directors reporting to the Director, as well as with other leaders
across campus to offer or take advantage of expertise, investigate opportunities for further integration, improve
existing services, or offer new services.

Western Washington University's campus network is highly redundant and resilient, supporting data, voice-over-IP
telephony, and broad wireless connectivity. The network plays a vital role in campus recoverability from a disaster to
either of WWU's two on-campus data centers, as well as taking a significant part in securing campus resources against
malware and attack. The campus network extends some off-campus locations through external ISP's via VPN tunnels.
Commodity Internet service is
provided to the campus by a 10Gbps circuit.

Review of applications begins December 10, 2015; position open until filled. WWU is an equal opportunity and
affirmative action employer committed to assembling a diverse, broadly trained faculty and staff. Women, minorities,
people with disabilities and veterans are strongly encouraged to apply.
