I’m hopeful they will resume the project and resolve any identified crypto issues.  However, my understanding is that 
it would require that the existing authors re-release the source code under a different license.  Given the statements 
from the “David” developer, it does not sound like they are interested in that because they feel a fork would be 
“harmful” and they want the source to be  “reference”.
