Cathy,

We actually did something a bit different than an online training module.
We partnered with local IT staff and did a “Mobile Security Fest”. We put a
half dozen people with various Android, iOS, (and Blackberry at the time)
experience in a conference room and invited our Arts and Letters department
in to let us help them secure their devices. We worked through a good
number of devices, got great word of mouth, and gave away a base model
Kindle to get people in the door. We found that the in-person tutoring
helped a lot.

We do use the SANS Securing the Human training for our normal sensitive
data training, and find it’s a useful baseline. We had more impact on a
per-individual basis with the in-person work.

Good afternoon,
I have an opportunity to work with our training staff to develop some
short security awareness training modules for our user community. The two
topics I want to focus on are BYOD/Mobile Devices protecting sensitive data
and the other is using Cloud Services (i.e., Google Drive, Drop Box, etc.)
responsibly. Both with a focus on protecting sensitive and regulated
university data.

I'm wondering if anyone has already produced training like this and are
willing to share your resources. Feel free to contact me offline if you
prefer.

Thanks in advance.
