Job Summary:


Reporting to the Manager of Information Security and Architecture, this position will be responsible for helping 
evaluate and implement IT security strategies.

Candidate will implement application and data security strategies based on UCI Information Security Plan while helping 
perform security risk assessments and security control reviews of campus information systems.

Candidate will follow industry security bulletins and best practices from organizations such as OWASP and SANS.

Candidate will take lead role in conducting web application security penetration testing.

The candidate will also perform code reviews, mentor and assist developers on best practices and remediation of 
application vulnerabilities that are found as well as overall secure software design and architecture.

The candidate will perform network host vulnerability scanning and penetration testing to ensure the environment 
applications are deployed in is secure, producing accurate and helpful reports of findings and remediation advice for 
customers both internal to OIT and externally campus-wide.

Candidate will assist in evaluating security tools and vendor products as well as help maintain current 
security-related applications and infrastructure components including design and operation of web application firewalls.
