The Information Security Guide (www.educause.edu/security/guide) includes a new case study focusing on security awareness and community engagement: Who’s Watching Charlottesville – Community Based Security Awareness. The “Who’s Watching Charlottesville?” initiative pools the resources of several local partners in a community effort to educate area residents in how to protect themselves online. The campaign’s mission is to empower the community through education to promote safe and savvy Internet use. Learn more about Who’s Watching Charlottesville’s benefits, shortcomings, implementation challenges, and future plans by reading the full case study: https://wiki.internet2.edu:443/confluence/x/zIG2 We hope this case study might provide you with ideas for organizing similar community-based awareness activities during NCSAM in October - and throughout the year.
