Dear Security Discussion list members,

The new Core Data Service (CDS) Dashboard, the online hub for survey data entry, is now live and Phase 1: Data
Collection has officially begun. As redesigned in 2010-11, CDS points to a new, more flexible vision for EDUCAUSE
research and analytics. The new survey has been modularized to facilitate delegation of survey input. Most of the
modules are optional, including a new one dedicated to IT security. This module, with questions about IT security
organization, staffing, policies, and practices related to information technology security, was developed with feedback
received from members at the 2010 Security Professionals Conference.

The more participation we have in CDS, the greater the value of the data service to our community. The EDUCAUSE primary
representative at each eligible institution manages participation in the Core Data survey. If you are interested in
ensuring your school completes the new security module and you are not the primary rep, you can log in to the CDS
dashboard to view your survey administrators. You can ask them to delegate you as the author of the security module.
You must submit data by June 17 to gain access to the service and download data later this summer.
