Ron, I just successfully did this at our location a few weeks ago.  I DID NOT have to upgrade to SQL 2008, rather I 
left the database (per IDF's recommendation) at SQL 2005, and the upgrade went without a hitch. - Brennon

We are looking to upgrade to the latest version of Identity Finder Console - going from the 4.x version with an SQL 
2005 database (which must be upgraded to the prerequisite SQL 2008 or SQL 2008 R2).

Has anyone else out there attempted this?  If so, did you run into any gotchas or issues?
