National Cyber Security Awareness Month 2009 is HERE!

As many you know, October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month.

We encourage you to consider ways that you can raise awareness among  
your faculty, staff, and students in October and invite you to help  
promote National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM). If you are  
planning to hold an event in October, please share the URL or your  
plans with this group or send an e-mail to <security-council () educause edu 
> so your institution's activities can be included with our list of  
2009 campus events.

This year the EDUCAUSE/Internet2 Higher Education Information Security  
Council (formerly the Security Task Force) and the National Cyber  
Security Alliance have worked to make being involved even easier.

NCSA also has a new website <http://www.staysafeonline.org/ncsam> with:

Endorsement Forms: Institutions can show their commitment to cyber  
security by endorsing October 2009 as National Cyber Security  
Awareness month. The endorsement form can be completed online.
Customizable Posters: For the first time, there is a special poster  
for the month that is customizable with a logo or a message to help  
promote local activities.
A Wide Variety of Media Tools: Other information and resources include  
Web banners, brochures, and safety tips.
As always all NCSA materials and endorsements are free. Materials have  
been designed for easy to downloading and repurposing. Contact NCSA <info () staysafeonline org
