I had similar experiences after switching from Live mail to Gmail.

My experience was the same for my home domain account. I also found
that the spam getting through their spam filters went from 400+/day on
Yahoo to 4-5/day on Gmail. With no greater incidence of false positives.

YMMV...

protected on both the send and receive.

Can anybody share their experience with Gmail for student email accounts
and IMAP access? I am particularly interested in IMAP account
configuration and authentication.

Thanks,
