To what extent do institutions grant access to electronic resources to admitted students? Or, to put it another way, what sets of IT services do admitted students have access to at your school? We're talking about the large pool of students who have only been admitted, but have not yet accepted. For example, are they given limited access to your PeopleSoft or Banner systems? Are they given email/Unix/Exchange accounts? To what degree can they interact on-line with your institution? Can they get personalized information? Can they conduct any transactions (e.g., pay deposit)? How are the triple A's (Authentication, Authorization, Auditing) handled under the circumstances? Feel free to answer as briefly or verbosely as you like. Marty Manjak Information Security Officer University at Albany
