We have used the Bosch system for a few cameras on our campus and decided that we really don't like it. The cameras are ok but the main problem is the Bosch software. Accessing the cameras from anything other than IE with just the right Java version usually results in the page not working. The admin software ( at least the older version we had ) you needed a specific version of Java which is almost impossible to get and install now. We have since moved on to Axis cameras ( and analog to ip converters ) and are still evaluating the best software for managing them. On their own the Axis cameras are very nice and extremely flexible. Dan Oachs Gustavus Adolphus College Croke, John wrote:
I was wondering if anybody had any experience good or bad with IP based or Hybrid Video management system. I am currently trying to decide between Bosch Vidos, Cisco, and On-Net Security Solutions. All offer Hybrid solutions to ease the transition form analog CCTV to IP based. If anyone has used any of these systems or another system that you have had success with please let me know.
