I just want to send a quick thank you to everyone who has contributed to
this discussion. There were many thoughtful and insightful comments posted
in response to the original series of questions. It's clear that this is a
complex and important issue that requires serious and ongoing effort to
address.

I particularly appreciate the offers that several authors made to discuss
the issue in greater depth and will try take advantage of your generosity.
