We migrated to a Windows DHCP server for our dorm network. What I'd like to be able to do is send the DHCP messages to a Linux syslog server so I can have a historical record of which machine had a particular IP address at a given time. The DHCP events aren't stored in the Windows Event Viewer. I did a little googling, and couldn't find much. I'm open to any suggestions on how to accomplish this.
I suppose migrating to a Linux box running a DHCP server would be out of the question? If you did, you'd get sane syslogging right out of the box.
