Purdue University has an open position for an IT Security and Privacy
Analyst in West Lafayette, Indiana.

Some community facts and opportunities include historic districts
featuring homes and shopping, state-of-the-art industries, excellent

creating a rich cosmopolitan atmosphere that offers many different
cultural events. In addition, Lafayette is just an hour from
Indianapolis to the southeast, and 2 hours from Chicago to the
northwest.

Listed below is the job description/qualifications and information on

QUALIFICATIONS
Required: 
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Computer
Technology, Information Security, or related field. Business degree with
IT coursework will be considered. One year of experience in any of the
following: second tier security customer support or security
applications support; operating system support; or security consulting.
Consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of related
education and required work experience. Excellent oral, written, and
interpersonal communication skills. Analysis, decision making, problem
solving, and customer service skills. Basic understanding of security
methodologies.

Preferred:
Security tools and technologies research and design in a large diverse
systems environment, security testing, or security risk assessment
experience. Security regulatory compliance (i.e., HIPAA, GLBA)
familiarity. Programming skills such as C, PERL, shell scripting as well
as a working knowledge of computer networking configurations and
associated protocol suites. CISSP or GIAC certification.

JOB DUTIES
Provide incident response and remediation support, customer support, and
operational support of security tools and technologies.  Evaluate,
design, and help develop technical security solutions to improve or
implement security best practices.  Continually evaluate existing
security processes and recommend improvements and maintain existing or
new documentation as needed.  Research and help develop security
policies, procedures, guidelines and training material as required.
Perform information security reviews or testing, security risk
assessments, and security consulting for all Purdue campuses as
required.
