http://www.netdisco.org is free software that gives you a database of
switchport, MAC address and IP number listings of connected
machines. No jack or room info though, but great if you
need to find out quickly, on which switchport a malicious machine was
yesterday night. It also lets you disable the port at the click of a mouse
via snmp write.

Cheers.

Hello!

            Before developing any application, I would like to know how
universities manage their jack to network port inventories.

EX: IP switch; port switch; jack number; jack room number;
department/services; device connected; special config

We would like to migrate from XLS sheet to a database. We didn’t find
any commercial application so we are thinking about developing one.

Let me know if you use any open source or commercial application that
you would recommend.

Thanks
