Connie Paypal accounts have their own set of issues. That being pushed aside has anyone spoken with your legal folks to get their position? I would be concerned with any legal liabilities the school might be open to by allowing such activity. I'd be interested in understanding what you mean by "host small events". Do you mean host like in server host? Are you looking at allowing students to setup their own server and setup an ebay like platform from on campus? If so, I hope you have a lot of heart medicine...:-) Aaron M Gibbs Executive Director Center for Information Technology Saint Augustine's College 919-516-4379 (Office) 919-516-4382 (Fax) amgibbs () st-aug edu www.st-aug.edu "Always be a visionary!" -----Original Message----- From: Sadler, Connie [mailto:Connie_Sadler () BROWN EDU] Sent: Tuesday, January 10, 2006 4:19 PM To: SECURITY () LISTSERV EDUCAUSE EDU Subject: [SECURITY] Paypal Accounts for Student Activities Our student groups are putting increasing pressure on us to allow them to set up Paypal accounts to sell items, host small events, etc. I would like to hear what others are allowing on campus regarding the use of Paypal accounts - and why you allow or disallow it.
