As previously announced, October is National Cyber Security Awareness
Month! The U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the National Cyber
Security Alliance (NCSA) have issued a press release
(http://www.staysafeonline.info/news/press_sept27_2005.html ) regarding
their efforts to promote online safety during October.

Additionally, the NCSA has re-designed its web site and there are a few
things that you should know about:

* You can download a web banner
(http://www.staysafeonline.info/news/online.html) to display on your
security web site or other institutional web pages to show your support
of National Cyber Security Awareness Month. (Note that the banner now
appears at http://www.educause.edu/security)
* You can view the Public Service Announcement ("Stop. Think.
Click") at http://www.staysafeonline.info/video/stay_safe.wmv or show to
appropriate audiences at your institution
* You can link to the new "Eight Cyber Security Practices to Stay
Safe Online" available at
http://www.staysafeonline.info/practices/index.html
* You can access a Calendar of Events at
http://www.staysafeonline.info/events/index.html To add your event to
the calendar, send event details and a URL to
