Steve (and others on the list who may be interested), Firefox has an "allowed sites" list associated with the popup blocker. Therefore, instead of "disabling" blocking altogether, can Horizon simply tell us what URL(s) should be allowed? Thanks, David ----- At 11:37 AM -0500 on 1/12/05, Steve Worona wrote:
Gee, Kevin, works fine on my machines. :-) Your message actually arrived in the middle of yesterday's E-Live! session, so a bunch of us discussed the problem briefly when the program ended. The consensus is: - You're at least going to get a message about pop-ups and perhaps about installing a plug-in or two, depending on what you already have. That's probably unavoidable. But you should be able to limit the messages to a one-time setup. - Horizon support says:Firefox has a pop-up blocker that should be disabled. Any other programs with built-in personal firewalls or internet security should be set to allow <http://educause.horizonwimba.com>http://educause.horizonwimba.com, including a RealAudio stream.- If you go through the "Setup Wizard" at <http://educause.horizonwimba.com/wizard/launcher.cgi>http://educause.horizonwimba.com/wizard/launcher.cgi you should be able to configure only once and be OK from then on. Hope that helps. If there's still a problem, let me know (off-list unless there's more general interest). Steve -----
