Anyone use utilities from http://www.nirsoft.net/ -- It says that they are all written by Nir Sofer (email address: nirsofer () yahoo com) . What concerns me is that the screenshots and documentation look good. But I can find very little about Nir Sofer and not much is listed for nirsoft.net Even SecurityFocus doesn't show a single hit for "nircmd" and some of the other utilities. I know programmers that can program stuff like this in their spare time. They are few. And I know people who protect their privacy well. This combination makes me ask. Does anyone know Nir Sofer? Are the tools free of any undesirable side effects? I would like to think that I am being cautious, and not paranoid.
