I am in the Dayton chapter and serve on the board. I agree with what
John Bruggeman said, especially "that it is a broad group that doesn't
focus exclusively on IT." We decided early
to have our bi-monthly presentation topics vary including physical
security. Our January meeting was a terrorist scenario with six first
responders on the panel and was well attended. Security people from
universities in the area regularly attend the meetings too.

The Columbus chapter has three Ohio State University Network Security
Group people on its board, one as its Chair. -patty

I'm in the Cincinnati chapter and we just had a meeting this past
Tuesday. I know of at least two other chapters in Ohio, one in Dayton
and one in Cleveland. We have good attendance at meetings and have
bi-monthly meetings. I would just echo what Joe St. Sauver said, it's
a broad group that doesn't focus exclusively on IT. I do find the
meetings very valuable in terms of networking contacts and just
general information exchange.

I think a EDUCAUSE meeting would be a good idea.
